SEO Tip - How to Make Your Page Content More Relevant For Google

Here's how to make your web page content more relevant for Google to boost your SEO.

When you see a free listing for a web page on Google it is made up of three elements as follows,

The Headline
The Description
The URL - Destination web page

If you use your keywords in the headline, description and URL or your webpage this will ensure that the page is highly relevant when this term is searched which is one of the reasons why it will appear high up Google.

The Headline is basically the text used in your Page Title (Title Tag) which is the text in the Blue Bar at the top of every webpage.

The Description is taken from your 'Meta Data' in the back end of the site, or if you do not have a page description built into the back of the site, Google will take the description directly off the page. So, if your keywords are in the page content these will show up on the Google listing along with some of the text in the same line.

You can put your own 'Meta Data' (page description/keywords) in the back end of your site but there is a general feeling amongst SEO experts that Google is not putting so much importance on these aspects anymore because you can try to trick the system by putting relevant keywords and relevant descriptions in the back of the web page that nobody sees, this could lead people to a page that is not relevant to the search term used to get to your page.

The URL. This is the address of a specific page on your website. If you can make your URL keyword relevant this has extra benefits with regards to Google.
