Get Organized for Google SEO

Getting good SEO ranking hinges on several major areas of work. This article is written as concisely as possible to sum up those areas for success.

WEBSITE DESIGN - The design of your website affects the way search engine bots read your website. Search engine bots prioritize your code and content according to it's position on the page. If your keyword content is high on the page it receives more importance. So write as much of the content as possible near the top of the webpage code.

OPTIMIZING CONTENT - Optimizing content is essentially the use of wording and the format of the page. This can be broken into three areas: keyword density, formatting, and relevancy of the whole site.

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword is used on your page per one hundred words. A keyword density of 4% is usually optimal, so use keywords four times in each 100 words.

Formatting your content is important because titles, header tags and content that are capitalized, bold or italic with anchor text and other options increases the weight of the text or keyword. Don't bold every keyword every time it's used, 25% of the time is optimal.

WHOLE SITE RELEVANCY - whole site relevancy has major effect on your ranking. If your website is focused on carpeting it should do better in carpeting related searches than if it had many areas of content. And the relevancy of the entire site will affect the rankings of each page.

LINKS - Getting inbound links is very important. These links can be gotten from many different sources, and they should come from a diversity of sources for optimal ranking.

Submit your website to directories. This gives links and traffic to your website. These are often free of charge, but the more relevant they are to your content and the better their page rank the better the effect.

Write articles for ezines with your links in the article or at the end of the article. You will get relevant linkage plus relevant traffic. Leave comments with your links on various relevant blogs to get inbound links and relevant traffic.

Write your own blog with links to your content pages. Swap blogroll links with like-minded bloggers. Also use internal links on your website from one page to another to increase your websites weight.

SOCIAL MEDIA - using social media for SEO is a recent development. You get the links from the social networking sites themselves, which have value, plus access to many possible candidates for reciprocal linking. All of the relevant sites that are in your community or social network contribute to your relevancy.

If you take care of these ways to optimize for Google you will also be optimized for the other search engines. Now just submit your URL to Google and get your newly optimized website some rank and traffic.

Google SEO Starting Points

Understanding Google SEO starting points can help you to maximize your chance at reaching the highest rank at the major search engines, including Google. SEO is the process of search engine optimizing your web pages so that it matches the requirements that Google and other search engines has set up to consider rank. You have a few SEO strategies to consider when attempting optimizing your web pages to pass Google and other major search engine's algorithms and crawlers.

Some of the top things to consider are the Sandbox and Page Rank. You will need to consider keyword accuracy, relevancy, quality and quantity also. This will include relevant links. You want to make sure your keywords are embedding in your web pages so that your traffic can notice this Google SEO strategy easily.

Google SEO strategies often involve a couple of related terms, which we will discuss in this article. While this topic is to help you understand the Sandbox and Page Rank, we encourage you to check other SEO strategies to get the most out of your search engine optimizing experience.

At least two unique terms relate to SEO success. You should understand these SEO terms before you set up your e-commerce and it appears on your front page of Google's engine results. Consider:

Sandbox:

This box was designed to combat common spam and unscrupulous practices of E-commerce. Google has denied high rank to new coming web sites. Google will depreciate value of any incoming links. Roughly, after 3-months the web sites as well as the links will be given appropriate power. Moreover, the web site will allow access to Google's engine playground. Commonly, SEO methods such as this circumvent the SEO Sandbox by joining Google's Ad word;
Page Rank:

Page Rank is a gauge that perceives the value of your web pages factored into the quantity and quality of your links that point to specified web pages. If the keywords posted on the web site are uncommonly used in the SEO market, thus you will have fewer competitive marketers, which can negate value of your Page Rank. Yet, this SEO Page Rank extremely uses valuable keywords that should be competitively marketed in the SEO industry.

Google does not make it easy to optimize your web pages. Yet, by applying a few correct SEO strategies it will payoff. By adhering to Google SEO requests you can boost traffic, send targeted users to your web pages, and your sale dollars will increase. Most users that conduct web page search will use Google's Search Engine, since the engine combines comprehensive coverage of excellence and relevancy as users' desire. Google set out to provide Excellency, accuracy and relevancy that users demand on the highest quality web pages.

Engine Promoter, EnginePromoter.com search engine marketing web-site for search engine optimization and website submission. Promote your website and get top rotating positions on over 250+ search engines, including a niche website submission. Engine Promoter also operates #1 Shopping Online and, #1 Go Shopping.

Using Google SEO to Increase Web Site Traffic

With the growing success that the internet has seen in recent years, more and more people decide to expand their business to cover the interned, every day. This means that the number of sites is continuously growing by the thousands each day. The thing is that 99,9% of these websites are completely unknown to the general public, and they stay this way for a long time if the owners don't take the necessary steps in order to increase the visibility of their websites.

You can measure a sites success in two ways, either by checking the page's page rank, or by checking its position in the search engines results pages. SEO optimization and Google SEO have the ability to achieve both these targets, and more. The first aspect that SEO optimization entails when it comes to optimizing a website is on site SEO. Google SEO experts know that optimizing a website's inner components is essential for getting the best possible results in the long run.

While many SEO optimization experts argue that page rank is biased and cannot be completely trusted as a way of knowing your page rank, the position on the search engine results pages is the generally accepted way of measuring the success of a SEO optimization campaign. The content present on your website is as important as half of the upcoming SEO optimization campaign.

You could get thousands and thousands of backlinks and still see no increase in visitor numbers or sales. This happens because, according to Google SEO rules, Google and most of the other important search engines frown upon sites that are completely irrelevant to their keywords, or employ deceitful marketing techniques, as they also frown upon the infamous black hat SEO.

Natural, white hat, manual submission, link building constitutes one of the best ways of performing a Google SEO optimization. The product of link building campaigns is called a back link. A back link is in actuality nothing more than a link placed on a website, through which that website links back directly to the first. There are many types of back links, such as one way, two way, three way, and so on. However, the most basic Google SEO and SEO optimization rules clearly state that one way links are the best.

In regards to the optimum number of backlinks, any SEO optimization expert will tell you that the larger the number of incoming links, the greater the results. However, there is one important factor that needs to be taken into consideration when building backlinks. Regardless of their number, backlinks need to be built during an extended period of time. Sure, you can get even 2000 links a day, but this will most certainly lead to that specific website being banned or blacklisted by Google and the other search engines. The last piece of advice is to do a little research before starting a Google SEO campaign, or if you are employing a company's SEO optimization services make sure that they are qualified and able to ensure good results.

Google SEO Linking Strategy

Everyone knows you can improve your ranking in Google by increasing the number of links pointing to you from high-quality sites.

One-way links, from the resource box of your articles and two-way links, from reciprocal link exchanges, count toward your link popularity.

However, the common mistake that many webmasters make is to promote a link to only their home page using the same anchor text, such as the name of their site that may have a keyword they are targeting.

Some Google SEO experts believe Google may disregard a site that has too many links pointing to its home page with the same anchor text. The experts recommend varying the anchor text and having links point to other pages of your site.

Google is good at detecting duplicate content and your site may end up in it's Supplemental Results, which doesn't deliver the same amount of traffic that their main search results does.

Imagine the extra work involve with manually submitting your articles each with a resource box that links to different keywords and urls. How about when you request link exchanges with other sites?

Fortunately, various article and directory submitters recognize the importance of varying your title, descriptions and links and have features that allow you to rotate random variations before you submit your site info to the directories.

Unfortunately, you'll still have to think up the different keyword tiles and descriptions to input into these submitters.

Whether you promote your site using manual or automated means, don't be lazy, write various titles and descriptions for different pages of your site. It will slow you down, but it will be worth it in the long run.

How to Implement a Google SEO Campaign

Google SEO is a common phrase around the web, SEO stands for search engine optimisation and when it comes to optimising a website there is only one search engine you need to consider and that is Google. This is because it has a 80-85% search share and is the only real search engine worth targeting.

Many people know little bits of Google SEO but few really know how to run through a full campaign maximising every ranking opportunity. You see Google SEO is not about providing one big hit, it is consistently and continually building your sites relevance and authority. It takes time to rank for keywords on Google but following these guidelines will set you on the correct tracks.

The first thing you need to think about is keyword research, use the different tools available online to help you narrow down the most relevant keywords to your content. You need to be looking at search traffic and keyword competition, looking for a good mixture of competitive terms and more niche terms. The Google keyword tool is a great place to discover new keywords and quickly assess there competition.

You will then need to analyse the competition also targeting that keyword, what are they doing well, how many links do they have, what areas of their page are optimised and where can I beat them? This will also give you the ideal opportunity to discover new keywords from your competitors content and meta data.

Now is the time to optimise your on page content. You should include keywords in your title tag, headings, alt attributes, and in the main body content. Also look to bold some on page keywords and create outbound links to relevant sources using the anchor text of your keywords.

If you want your site to rank highly your going to have to build links to your site. Article marketing, directory submissions, blog carnivals, guest posting, commenting and press releases are all ways to get those desired backlinks. You should be looking for a place on your site to create quality content, content that encourages other webmasters to link back to your site, therefore increasing the rankings naturally.

Last but not least you need to check on the health of your site. Duplicate title tags, URLs or meta tags could result in a Google penalty. Check for broken links and faulty redirects or misplaced robots.txt files. All these if not implemented correctly will prevent Google from indexing your site correctly, which you will miss out on traffic. Following this simple structure should ensure you are heading in the right direction with your Google SEO campaign.

Does Domain Age Matter For Google SEO?

One of the most common features you will find on any site advising on Google SEO is the recurring shout that domain age plays a huge factor in determining where a site will rank in Google's search engine results page.

I believe domain age does have an effect on where your site is ranked but I don't think it is as straightforward as many would like to believe. You see if Google does use domain age it can be for 1 simple reason, it is because an older domain is better established and reliable, therefore less likely to be spam. How many spammers do you know that want to wait 12 months to get to the top of Google?

In Google's original patent it seemed to indicate some sort of preferential treatment towards domain age, but nothing has been stated that clarifies the position. I personally think the statement in the patent has been blown out of proportion and has even been the reason for many Google SEO specialists to write off clients chances of ranking, it's a joke.

Let's look at this logically how can the domain age be a sound indicator of quality and relevance? Firstly domains can be parked for years before a single page is written, secondly new domains are often used as 301 redirects to more established pages, this is common practice with in large company websites, lastly a site could be used by spammers for years, sold on to a new ethical owner but the domain registration will remain the same. Quality content simply does not start pouring in as soon as a domain is registered.

If there is any sort of age element in the algorithm it will be closely linked with the age of back links pointing to a site. The older these links are the more established a site is therefore the site can be trusted more, however there is one small caveat. If the sites linking in are all spam sites and directories such as link farms, this is unlikely to have a real impact on search engine optimisation.

Alternatively if domain registration does figure in the algorithm, then I believe it to be of minor importance, it is what some people refer to as the sandbox effect and means your rankings may slump until you have built up a solid link profile. In my experience any erratic fluctuations in rank are always calmer after the first 12 months of your site are over.

Fast Track Your SEO With Google Search Options

Google has made a great new change for search that will be of immense help to webmasters and affiliate marketers alike. Until recently inputting a search term in Google would return a whole list of searches. However there was no way of drilling down into the search for a greater degree of relevancy. All this has now changed.

Social marketing - Google's wake up call

With the evolution of social marketing, Google has had no option but to sit up and take notice of what's going on online. For instance a search on Twitter using search.twitter.com will enable you to find information on topics in real time, posted hours or even minutes before your search. . As more posts are made, information comes through like a like a press release. Because Google loves fresh content, the best part is that these blog posts or micro blog posts are indexed very quickly.

Previously when you did a search on Google, the spiders or bots would crawl through the entire internet and then deliver content that was based on what Google thought you should know. They made the decisions in a way that they felt was best for you. But essentially their bots did this for you.

Narrowing your search with well defined parameters

Nowadays, when you search for an item on Google, you have far better search options. This is a major change. Click on "Show Options" and you get a whole new side bar providing a lot of additional search options. You can considerably narrow down your search parameters. For example, say you want to learn to play the piano. You can get videos on how to play the piano that were posted in the past 24 hours. Or narrow the search further to posts made in the past 2 hours. You can further narrow that down to videos that are longer than 4 minutes.

You get the point. You can really add a lot of parameters that are more relevant to you.

Optimising strategies for increased traffic generation

How does the new "Search Options" tool affect your ability to market products and services online? How can you use it for Google SEO purposes? It's really quite simple. By using the right keywords, you can optimise your website much better to grab traffic in real time. Find the keywords that people use to do a search when you update your content and make blog posts. Because people will be using those keywords to do a search, just like the content you see at twitter your content will get posted at real time.

As you probably know, Google hates affiliate marketers. If you use a keyword phrase to do a search, you will hardly find an affiliate marketer come up on the "All Results" page. However smart affiliate marketers can now get around the problem by hosting a review site. Of course the products being reviewed will be affiliate products and the website will have links to the affiliate website.

When you click on "Review" using the new options, you will see a lot of review sites. If you use a review site to promote affiliate products, you will actually have an advantage over a generic site promoting similar products. You are no more penalized for being an affiliate site for the word "review".

The addition of these options feature is really a blessing to savvy webmasters and affiliate marketers. The key here is to plan current content posts, or review sites and properly link them to rank well for the relevant keyword phrases. As more people begin to use these search options, marketers who implement strategies around the new search options will have an upper hand in the competitive market for Google SEO. This is because they will be able to have their sites rank well for those sub categories when they could never really rank that well for the whole group. This is what affiliate marketers and web masters should figure out for their particular niche, to fully exploit the amazing opportunity provided by Google.

SEO Tips, Google SEO Training Optimization For 2009

You probably heard that in 2009 Google SEO will change dramatically. Results will not always be based on how many links you have or your keyword you selected. The new Search results will be more about personalization. So here are some SEO tips to help you make any necessary changes to your website or blog in the future.

Google SEO training will start with learning how the the search engines will behave in 2009. Anybody who does a search will get different results based on their past search history. That means your websites ranking will not matter because my search results can be different from your results even though we both type in the same keyword phrase. That alone makes SEO optimization a bit tricky. Search engines like Google will be looking at third party cookies and even your IP to see where you are located and give you results more based on your location. This may cause some people to delete their cookies to get a more conventional search.

Some more SEO tips also include having video on your website. One day written content will not be king. That crown will go to video. As video increases on the web your best SEO training will be to have your website include some type of video just to keep you on the first page. Google will be testing a bunch of universal search variables to tell just how engaging your website is so having both text and video will serve you plenty in the coming years. I know there are a lot of people who don't use videos on their website and they offer lots of useful information. To me that is more important than a website with flashy videos and useless content. We will see what Google has to say about that in the future.

This means traditional Google SEO optimization will not matter as much. Ranking will eventually be dead. Things like traffic, analytics, bounce rates, and so on will count more. The more unique traffic your website have the better you will do. Spammy traffic from paid bulk traffic site will not be as well regarded as it has been in the past.

Speaking of spam, Websites that scape texts will not be able to rank on Google. If your website simply links to other websites this will effect you as well. Those types of links will be diminished in value dropping your website to the bottom of the search results. This will insure that you get quality results from your search and not just a bunch of links to nowhere.

So that is the future of SEO optimization. I hope these SEO tips can keep your website in good standing with Google in 2009. You don't have to abandon all the usual tactics to have your website show up with good results. You might just have to incorporate a few changes making your site more compatible with Google. SEO training will be challenged and it will be interesting to see who will come out ahead.

Google SEO Secrets Explained

The main problems with getting listed in google?

There's nothing worse finally getting your website indexed in google after much work gaining strong back links, only to find that your pages have supplemental results.

What is supplemental results? You can tell if your site is in the supplemental index by entering site: yourdomain.com in google, if any of the resulting pages have the words " Supplemental Results - in green beside the listing, this shows your these pages are in the supplemental index.

What does google say about supplemental results?

Supplemental sites are part of Google’s auxiliary index. We’re able to place fewer restraints on sites that we crawl for this supplemental index than we do on sites that are crawled for our main index. For example, the number of parameters in a URL might exclude a site from being crawled for inclusion in our main index; however, it could still be crawled and added to our supplemental index.

Yeah Yeah, auxiliary index? fewer restraints?

Simply what this means your pages are in fact indexed in google, but in the lower ranking index, which is where you really do not want to be.

How long to get out of this other index? generally anywhere from 9 to 12 months, with some execptions.

More from Google

The index in which a site is included is completely automated; there’s no way for you to select or change the index in which your site appears. Please be assured that the index in which a site is included does not affect its PageRank.

Erhm, Rubbish, you will never see a website/page in the supplemental index with PageRank.Though, having links from authority high PR websites can help your site get out of the supps.

So, now we know about supps and how it affects your labours in creating your fantastic website, which is now in Google Hell so to speak, whats the best way to avoid it if Possible?

How about purchasing a domain that has already passed the 9 to 12 months in the supplemental index or google hell as we call it?

What if I said there are literally 1000's and 1000's of domains like this dropping every day?

What if I said a lot of these sites even have PR and Backlinks from strong Authority websites and directories?

What if I said these domains with new content on them get indexed FAST! and do not get listed in google hell :)

Wouldn't it make a lot of sense to put your valuable time into creating your new website on one of these domains ?

I've been teaching these strategies now for over 18 months to the members of my various sites, I am now going to share with everybody else exactly what is required to be successful using these strategies. and how to avoid the most common mistakes people make while doing this.

Its very simple

1. Find a domain which has just expired

2. Check to see if it has at least 2 pages in the google index and is not in the supplemental results.

3. Check this domain in Archive.org you can use their great wayback machine, which has a copy of just about every website on the internet, which gives you a peek into the past to see what type of website was on this domain, later I'll explain what domains to avoid.

4. Check to see if this domain is at least 2 years old. meaning its first registration was at least 2 years from the current date.

Using these points alone, one friend of mine increased his overall gross monthly income by a massive 30% and got him from 5 figures a month to 6 figures.

I make note of this to point out, these strategies are just as successful for
experienced online marketers as they are for people brand new to internet marketing.

I believe this is the absolute cheapest and simplest way to increase your online income by 30% to 200%.

Ok, now you know what to do, what's the best place to find these expired domains and the easiest way to check them?

Considerations For Choosing Google SEO Keywords

Google SEO keywords are used for optimizing a website to make it rank higher in the major search engine results of Google. The targeted keywords can be chosen by making use of the keyword suggestion tools, such as Word Tracker, Google keyword tool and Overture. The services of keyword suggestion tools are provided specifically for internet users and Google SEO specialists to find the best keywords for their websites and meet the objectives of Google optimization.

These keyword tools suggest keywords to you that are frequently searched in Google and other search engines by the internet users. Selecting the targeted and popular Google SEO keywords and using them in web content can lead your website to have a high ranking in Google. Business owners can know the utility of a keyword by counting the number of times it is searched in Google.

If your website is not getting ranked in Google then the probable reason could be that keywords used in your website are comparatively less relevant to internet users. So, it is always advisable to get access to the keyword suggestion tool to know about popular keywords searched in Google for your kind of business.

Google SEO keywords need to be given special attention as it is one of the prime factors in making your website rank high in Google search engine results. The keywords are the best tool to tap the targeted online market and so they should be chosen wisely. One of the most important factors that must be considered while choosing keywords for a website is placing keywords in the domain name. If the domain name includes keyword then the chances of getting ranked high in Google increase exponentially. Other than in the domain name, Google SEO keywords should be used within the website pages, including title, descriptions, headings and alt tags.

Keyword density is another important consideration that should be kept in mind while choosing the SEO Keywords for Google optimization. The right keyword density is around 2 to 7% per webpage. You must utilize your keywords in the anchor text that adds up back links which is the surefire way to increase traffic towards a business website.

Google SEO and Building Natural Links

We are often reminded by Google that natural, editorial type links are much better for enhancing our ability to rank high in the Google search results. On the other hand it can be extremely difficult to get these naturally awarded links especially if you have a brand new site and you can only build content at a slow pace.

Google's original patent describing how Google will crawl and index the link structure is loosely based on the academic world where references are given to unique or controversial research, each reference says something about the quality of the paper in question, the more the better.

Google works a lot like this, the more pages that reference your site the better quality of information can be expected to be found there. The problem comes when we are first starting out, we may have unique quality content but no one is going to come and see it without a link to it, this link will have to be manufactured, not natural so there's no other way around it.

In this article I want to go through some of the aspects that make a site's link profile look more natural than not and the first place I want to start off with is 'deep linking'. If your site is truly a quality resource it is going to have links to multiple areas of it not just the home page. Building links to deeper pages will ensure you keep a healthier looking link profile and aid your pages in being indexed.

Reciprocal links despite Google's acknowledgement of their low value are still widely used. Why do you think Google put's such a low weight on reciprocal links? It is because 90% of them are manufactured based on an agreement rather than awarded simply on the basis of great quality. My advice would be to simply use them sparingly.

Natural links do not hit your site all at once, they will build up naturally overtime, as your domain gains age it will naturally pick up more links as your work is referenced progressively. If you get involve in paid links or spamming your link graph will show huge spikes, this sort of activity is bound to be recognised and penalised accordingly.

Natural links will point to your site from more than one domain or even ten domains for that matter. You should always be looking to increase domain diversity in order to increase your rankings. Don't simply concentrate on getting links from one or two particular sites because it's easier, rather go to as many different places as possible to gather links.

Google SEO - 5 Ways to Get High Google Rankings

Getting your website to rank high on Google organic search result listings is like getting free advertising for your website. The organic listings cannot be bought and your website can only appear on it through proper optimization (SEO). SEO is the bed rock for online marketing and all webmasters should optimize their websites right from the beginning.

By getting high Google rankings, it will bring you more visitors and probably new customers too. In this article, let me share with you 5 ways to get high Google rankings:

1. Develop the right keyword list. Targeting the right keyword is the key to SEO success. If you optimize the wrong keyword, there will be no conversion.

2. Use unique Title and Meta Description for every page of your website. The keywords that you place in your Title and Meta tags should be relevant to the content of the page. The Title tag is like a book title; it tells the search engines what the page is about. Therefore, it is extremely important for you to use relevant titles for every page of your website.

3. Write good content and place it on your website. Content is king in Google SEO. Good content can be in the form of words, videos, audio, widgets, etc. Your objective is to provide value to your visitors and turn your website into a link bait. With good content, other webmasters will start linking to you and this will increase your website link popularity. Link popularity is one of the key factors for Google SEO success, so do not overlook it.

4. Good SEO copywriting. Adding keywords in the right place will help increase the visibility of the keywords. But, you need to be careful with this approach. Stuffing too many keywords within the content will make Google thinks that you are spamming them. So no matter what, always consider the human element. Write for human to read instead of Google.

5. Build more back links. Link building increases your website link popularity which will help it to get higher rankings on Google. You can build links through article marketing, press release submission, link exchange with other webmasters, directory submission and social book marking.

These are some of the things that you should do to get high Google rankings. Google SEO takes time, especially link building. You need to work on it consistently to see results. Develop your link building strategy plan and work on it religiously. Good luck!

Google SEO and Link Anchor Text

Anyone who knows anything about Google SEO will also know that anchoring your back links has a profound effect on your rank within the Google search result pages. Its probably the most powerful principle of off page optimisation and many sites have ranked for competitive keywords purely based on anchored links.

The problem we are faced with as webmasters is getting those anchored links. Remember Google likes all links to be natural, awarded for quality content from other webmasters, but these links will take the form of our domain name 90% of the time hampering our SEO efforts.

What I want to do in this article is share a few ways of making sure you get the anchor text your want in order to rank higher and pull in more targeted traffic.

One of the most obvious things you can do is pick a business or domain name that includes the keyword you are trying to target, this will look natural and will increase your rankings for the given keyword at the same time. Sometimes it may not be appropriate to have the targeted keyword in your company name, if not try to implement it in your title tag or in your page title, anything that prompts a linker to use it to link to your site.

Another great way to get the optimised anchor you need is to use content distribution methods. Article marketing seems to be a method that has long been forgotten, however it is still amazingly effective, with articles you get to create a fully optimised page and anchor the link back to your site, what more could you possibly ask for?

Directories are also a great place to get the anchor texts you want, however only use directories that are relevant to your content, submitting to every directory regardless of relevancy will do little or nothing for your Google SEO efforts. Again with directories you are fully in control of the link text, use it to good effect and optimise it for your targeted keywords.

A very similar method of getting links is through social media networks. Most webmasters submit there own web pages to places like delicious and digg, if you are one of these then be smart about it. In the title of your submission include the key phrase, in fact even make it the key phrase. If your site goes viral you could see thousands of anchored links pointing to your site over night. Stick to these simple principles and you will see a massive increase in your keyword rankings.

A few Ideas about Google SEO

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is synonymous with online success today. In particular if you work towards promoting your site the right way, with the right techniques of SEO so that your site ranks one among the top 10 on the major search engines, it is a sure-shot way to success. Google SEO has to be done carefully or you risk being penalized.

The secret of how pages are indexed and ranked is a closely guarded one. However there are ways you can get your site to rank high on many search engines. There are a few factors that can be discussed here to essentially understand the essence of search engine optimization. Keywords as the name suggests is the key to a good website. Search for relevant keywords using Google ad words. It is always best if the keyword is added in the URL. Similarly make the keyword a part of your domain too, using hyphens to separate them. In the headers, use the keyword in the title tag. This has to be placed around 60 characters from the beginning of the title for best results. The inclusion of keywords in the description Meta tag shows the theme of the site and it should not exceed 200 characters.

A website is only as good as its content and the content is only as good as its keywords. The keywords used in the body of the content again play a very important role. Some search engines specify a keyword density limit of 5-20%., the keyword density depending heavily on the topic in discussion. The individual keyword density needs to be between 1-6%. Use the Hx font style tags essentially in H1, H2 and H3 tags. For more than 2 keywords it is best when they are placed adjacent to each other.

All the internal links should contain keywords. Also, be sure to validate all the internal links. Try and keep the number of clicks to an internal link to 2 clicks. No internal link should be more than 4 clicks away. This is usually called a tree-like structure. When you are linking external pages from your site make sure you are linking to good sites. Undoubtedly, external links go bad and it is your duty to make sure they are updated. Google SEO is not easy but not impossible either.
