Most internet marketers are concerned about duplicate content, but are confused about what exactly duplicate content is, and what Google & other search engines think about it. Are you really going to be penalized by publishing articles on your website that other people also have published?
The simple answer is no! Google have no problem with content being duplicated on different domains.
There actually isn't any such thing as a duplicate content penalty - not in the way that most people think there is anyway.
Google make it clear in their guidelines, that what they're concerned about is websites which use only, or mainly duplicate content without adding any other value. So, if you just create a website which has pages & pages of articles, an no unique added value to the visitor in terms of content - then yes, Google will penalize the website for being overly heavy in duplicate content & not offering enough unique value.
However - this doesn't mean that you cannot use articles. Thousands of people use articles very effectively - what it means is that as long as you also have your own unique content on the website, and it's not all duplicate, then Google will not penalize the website at all.
Duplicate content within the same domain usually doesn't cause penalization either, as long as it doesn't appear to be some way of attempting to deceive the search engines. Usually all duplicate content within the same domain will do is result in one version of the content being ranked, and the others not - and Google will use their own ways to decide on which version of the content should be in the SERPs.
